However, as Sharon become more experience in the practice she realize that concepts helps her to understand what’s happening in her relationship with her practice. She experience and really cultivate a systematic approach to mindful and it’s total awareness of her moment to moment and learning to met that moment fully as it is. Over time . As she do same postures in class after class, she will observe that she experience of those postures shifts and changes and notice that she experience of those porstures is dependent upon her thoughts and feelings about those postures. This is a huge lesson to learn and a big step toward self-realiasation and immediately feel head over heels in love with the yoga practice. She passionate about continuing to expand her understanding and knowledge of yoga and has makes her grow stronger, more flexible, awareness and fearless, both on and off the mat. For Sharon it is the ultimate form of individual expression. A journey inwards where physical awareness and spiritual enlightenment come together complete balance achieved through practice, discipline, focused breathing, concentration , and mindfull movement. The most important part of her practice is not only the postures, but the intention she approach each one with. Sharon would like to share out what her instructors have given to her ;” A safe environment to challenge and take practice to the edge.”
Sharon first found refuge in yoga and completed her 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training with Yogavatar New Age Yoga at Celebrity Fitness Centre on the 19th of December 2015. She will always be a student of the practice and deeply grateful for the loving wisdom Guruji Miss Iryne Ng And Miss R2 Toh Hui Lee have shared with her. She believes that the practice of yoga is not only life changing but also life beginning. “When her personal practice shifted from fitness-minded to wellness-minded her love of life in this body truly began.” She is inspired by Asana while building a foundation base on the ancient practice of yoga towards samadhi. She recognizes this practice as a great tool for tremendous physical and inner growth,  such as alignment-based, Vinyasa flows, Pranayama, Bandha and practical  guided. Her passion is to share the positive effects yoga has had upon her life in hopes of continuing this positive effect among others. Sharon’s favorite place is anywhere people are gathered to sweat, breathe, break boundanes together.  Stay connected with Sharon and “OM…” to the world.

Yogavatar 015: AIDEN TIEN TZY YANG

AIDEN TIEN TZY YANG (Yogavatar ID# 1512-015)

AIDEN TIEN TZY YANG (Yogavatar ID# 1512-015) has successfully completed YOGAVATAR 200-HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING from 23 November to 19 December 2015 in Kuala Lumpur MALAYSIA. In accordance with the standards of YOGA ALLIANCE. Certified on 19 December 2015. Find out more at www.ispirit.asia

[box]ABOUT[/box]

Unlike other who expected fitness and sport injury recovery, Aiden started to attend yoga classes because he wanted to find peace. He fell in love with yoga after his miraculous recovery from insomnia which he had been suffering for half year. To him, yoga didn’t only make him sleep well, but also reverted all the health condition he had been dealing with due to the insomnia.

His yoga journey didn’t just stop there, and as he continued to practice and find out about yoga, he saw different perspectives of yoga. Be it spiritually, physically, or philosophically, Aiden was deeply attracted to the knowledge about yoga. As time goes by, while he knows more about yoga from classes and internet researches, he started to feel that usual yoga practice and sport yoga classes are unable to satisfy his desire to unveil the mask of yoga fully. That is when he finally decided to take his first teacher training course (RYT200) with YOGAVATAR NEW AGE YOGA in 23 Nov 2015, which is 10 months after his first yoga class.

As a yogi with relatively short yogic lifetime, Aiden finds his confidence to teach from the words one of his former instructors once said:” The length of your yogic experience doesn’t mean anything, it’s the quality of your yogic experience that matters.” As an athletic person who was once a half marathoner as well as an intense badminton player, he had already had considerably good stamina and mostability before approaching yoga. He took that as his advantage while learning asanas, and that was how, to most of his classmates’ and instructor’s surprise, he went into his first stable headstand in his second yoga class in his life.

But of course, everything comes with pros and cons, his past experience in sports gave him very tight hips, and a pair of pretty much injured knees. But that wouldn’t be an obstacle for him to teach. In the opposite, his painful experience to have inflexible legs had thought him well how the likes of him feel, and what kind of adjustments for some legs focused asanas suit most.

In all, he doesn’t stop understanding his own advantage and disadvantages. He embraces both, and has never been afraid to reveal, for he always believe:” Yoga is about finding balance. Be it good or bad, every part of oneself is part of the balance. One can either accept it, or try to run away from it. When one accept it, he learns and grow from it, when he keep trying to escape from it, the part of him remains unchanged forever.”

And for himself, he chooses to accept what he is made of, learn and grow with it, and share it to all who are willing to listen to him.

[box]ABOUT[/box]

Sheryl is a certified Yoga Teacher under RYT-200 from ispirit.asia, a new age Yoga School in Malaysia. With 6 years of practising prior to her certification, her objectives will be sharing her techniques and correct alignments in yoga poses. She believes that yoga help to relax the mind when practice with correct breathing techniques. She specialised in teaching hatha yoga, restorative yoga and gentle flow. She hopes to inspire more people to practise yoga as a way of life and welcome all level of students to come and experience yoga. No one is too old or too young to experience yoga. This is one of the key point during TTC that options will be given in the event students are unable to perform certain poses due injury or inflexibility. She believes with perseverance and constant practice, nothing is impossible. Sheryl herself is still constantly worked on her own practise in Ashtanga Yoga- Primary Series. Her favourite quote would be “Come and experience yoga and let it be your lifelong commitment to inner peace”.

Sheryl comes to yoga about 6 years ago. Back then she don’t have any background in movement training at all. 4 years ago, she was introduced to Mysore style Ashtanga Yoga by her teacher. For Sheryl, yoga is a path of self-realisation that can only be achieve by unification of body, mind and soul. The practice of Mysore style increases her body awareness and soon realised that movement with breathe actually is a type of moving meditation to calm the mind and soul.

Yoga helps you to experience calmness and peace between poses. Yoga asanas does have a psychological effects towards anyone when practise with Ujjayi breathing and being aware of body movement. For Sheryl, inversion poses help her to conquer fear of heights and discomfort of staying upside down. Her personal experience on psychological effect will be to learn to take it easy and accept sometimes life can be upside down too.

Inspired by a picture of yoga pose in a woman’s magazine at a young age, she hoped one day she can pick up yoga as a hobby. Back then, she can easily mimicked the Full Cobra pose within seconds when she saw the picture.

For the first few months of practising Ashtanga yoga, Sheryl can’t even lift herself up in Chaturanga. She lie down flat on the floor with no arms and shoulder strength at all. It was her teacher, Nic Cheah who constantly motivates her and slowly build up strength in her movement. She believes that correct poses alignments not only strengthens your body and enjoy the full benefits of the poses but also important to prevent injuries. It may sounds funny to hear that the most fearful word during an Ashtanga class would be ‘Chaturanga’ back then.

Sheryl was trained as a yoga teacher by ispirit.asia. She have been looking around for a yoga TTC course for about 1 year before that. She considered taking the course in Thailand, India or do it locally in Malaysia. It was as if this TTC was pre-arranged for her that the TTC dates coincides with a planned break from her corporate job. She immediately sign up when she saw the first TTC conducted by ispirit.asia. The programme was superb and prepared her well to conduct class in proper sequence, physical body adjustment, technical knowledge of asanas, yoga philosophy, anatomy and so on.

As a holder of RYT 200, she specialised in hatha yoga, restorative yoga and gentle flow as a start of her career. Prior to her yoga teacher certification, she has attend workshop by Michelle Lam, Judy Krupp, Simon Borg-Oliver, Briohny Smyth and expose to a many teachers and fellow yogi around the world when she attended Bali Spirit Festival in 2013.

Sheryl is dedicated in sharing her knowledge to help students to understand the importance of correct physical alignment and deepen their knowledge in yoga philosophy. Her favourite quote will be “Come and experience yoga as a lifelong commitment to inner peace”. Namaste!

[box]ABOUT[/box]

When she was 7, she took up gymnastics, trained hard from morning till night, went for many competitions, won some and lost some. One day she stopped because it became too stressful, it took up too much of her time and she couldn’t keep up with school work. But her love for sports never stops. She then took up netball, swimming, volleyball, dodge ball, captain ball, cheerleading, cycling, surfing, track and field, every sport you can ever think of. Being a gymnast as her background had really benefited her a lot. She had never regretted taking up gymnastics.

Her passion for yoga started when she saw lots of people doing cool yoga poses on Instagram. She admires them a lot, and tried to attempt some poses. Some was successful but some was also not easy. Her mum was also into yoga, and bought a lot of CDs to practice at home. Sometimes she will also take the CDs and give it a go. It was fun! Challenging! She has never been to any actual yoga classes but that’s not the end. During her holidays, she went to Australia for a month alone, staying with her relatives. She was searching around for things to do, and she found a great deal for 2 unlimited weeks of Yoga and Pilates classes. Every day she took the tram and trains to reach the studio. Attending different type of yoga classes. The people there are so nice, so friendly and her love for yoga grew even more. Her mum also knew that she was in love with yoga. She started helping her find for yoga classes and also Yoga Courses. One day, she saw this 200hr Teacher Training Course, and went for it. It was the best decision ever, she had learned so much, about how yoga came about, about herself, and how to teach yoga.

She would like to thank Iryne and R2 for being such patient, caring and awesome yoga teachers that put so much time and effort on making the teacher training course a success. Would never be where she is today without their help.

To her, yoga is all about self-awareness, loving yourself, and living a happy life.

Although she just started practicing yoga for less than a year, she realized the amount of benefits yoga brings to a person. It helped her recover from her injuries, become stronger, more flexible, and fearless. It also teaches her to live her life the fullest, by being calm and happy.

Her goal is to practice more yoga, to never stop learning, be happy and share yoga with everyone and anyone. She have always live to this quote “You do not find the happy life, you make it” – Thomas S Monson. Stop waiting for something to happen and make the most of the moment you are in now.
