- Be at least 16 years old
- Have a minimum of six months of yoga practice experience, in any style
- Possess a passion for learning and delving into the deeper aspects of yoga

I don’t want to be a teacher, can I still take the yoga teacher training?
Absolutely! You’re welcome to join our 200-hour training even if you don’t intend to become a teacher. Our program is perfect for individuals seeking a deeper understanding of yoga and aiming to enhance their personal practice. It’s also well-suited for those seeking a transformative experience and eager to become part of our vibrant Yoga Community.
Is the yoga teacher training physically challenging?
Our approach to yoga emphasizes cultivating ease and enjoyment in the body. We firmly believe in avoiding practices that push students to their physical limits. While the training may present moderate physical challenges, most students find it manageable and rewarding.
What preparations are necessary for attending?
Prior to enrolling in our teacher training course, we ask that you have a minimum of 6 months of consistent yoga practice. This ensures that trainees have a fundamental understanding of the primary yoga postures before delving into the teaching aspect.
Am I qualified to join the yoga teacher training course if I’m not flexible or strong?
Our 200-hour course serves as a foundation in yoga study. We do not expect perfection in every yoga pose. The key requirement is a passion for yoga and a commitment to the course, which will aid in the development of your practice.
Do I need to be fluent in English?
We welcome students from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities, and English does not need to be your first language. However, students should have a fairly fluent command of English, encompassing reading, writing, and speaking, as the entire curriculum is delivered in English.
Are there age restrictions for the yoga teacher training?
You must be at least 16 years old to enroll in the training, with no maximum age limit.
How does the yoga teacher training progress?
The training advances from basic to advanced levels, encompassing traditional and modern yoga, dynamic movement to static and silence practices, and Yin to Yang styles. The curriculum covers all aspects of yoga, including philosophy, anatomy, teaching methodology, theory, and technique.
Can I choose to attend some sessions in-person and others online?
Yes, you can freely select between physical and online classes. For instance, you can join an online class today and a physical class tomorrow, or attend a physical class in the morning and an online class in the evening. The flexibility allows you to choose what suits you best, with online classes conducted in real-time, similar to physical classes.
What if I miss some classes during the training?
No worries! If you’re unable to attend physical or live online classes, you can access our recorded videos. Yoga Alliance mandates completion of all 200 hours of teacher training. However, we understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise. To ensure you don’t miss out on course content, we record sessions and make them available for replay. You’re also welcome to join future training sessions as a refresher course, free of charge, within two years. Please note, you can miss up to 30 training hours, and you have a two-year window from the last day of the course to fulfill attendance requirements.
I have an injury or special condition; can I still take this course?
We recommend consulting with your physician first and signing a waiver affirming your ability to participate. With your doctor’s approval and release, minor physical limitations can serve as helpful demonstrations for learning to work with students facing similar challenges.
Can I enroll in this training if I am pregnant?
Many pregnant students have successfully completed our programs, depending on their individual circumstances. However, it’s essential to consult with your doctor first to ensure your suitability for the training.
What are the graduation requirements?
To graduate from the program, you must be fully paid and fulfill the following criteria:
- Attendance of training sessions
- Successful completion of homework, quizzes, and final exams
- Participation in a final practice teaching practicum
Are there any exams? If so, is the exam fee included in the training?
Yes, there will be an open book exam, and the homework assignments are considered part of it. Practical assessments are conducted during the last week of training, and there is no additional fee for exams.
How much time should I dedicate to homework assignments?
Plan to spend approximately 2 hours per day on homework. The assignments are designed to support class material and help integrate concepts into your practice and teaching. If you do not plan to teach after the course, you may opt-out of some assignments. However, completing all requirements is necessary to receive the Certificate of Completion.
How many students are in each training course?
We typically maintain small groups of 10-15 individuals in our trainings.
What is Yoga Alliance?
Yoga Alliance is an organization established in 1999 to set internationally recognized standards for yoga teachers and teacher training programs. While registration is not legally required, many yoga studios require their teachers to be registered at either the 200-Hour or 500-Hour level. Our Yogavatar® trainings are approved by Yoga Alliance at the 200-Hour level in Malaysia and hold a 5-Star rating based on past participant reviews.
Is the Yogavatar® Teacher Training Qualification recognized worldwide?
Yes! Our training is globally recognized and respected. Graduates come from various parts of the world and bring their knowledge back to their communities. However, we advise checking with local authorities for specific requirements in your country.
Will I be qualified to teach yoga after completing the 200-hour training?
