[box]ABOUT LIAN BOON SHAN[/box]

Shan has love yoga for 10 years. She started practicing yoga for about 2 years after SPM until she was offered a teaching position in her hometown,Perak. She likes the yoga postures and she feels powerful and confident during her yoga practice.

Our life is full of challenges. Shan stopped her yoga practice after she started working in KL. She is hardworking and responsible but somehow life is not only about working. When incidents happened, she felt insecure, stressed and ill tempered during those period. She started to realize that she has lost herself, she can’t find the smile on her face and she can’t find the happiness inside the bottom of her heart.

Maybe this is the present sent by God because Shan met her teacher, R2. R2 encouraged her to attend the 200-hours yoga teacher training course. She appreciated R2 so much that she registered for the course after some consideration. She felt happy meeting everyone there, “you and me, we all are same”, she gained a lot of knowledge from Guru Yogi Amitram and also teacher Jeremy. She started to bnecome interested to know more about yoga and also the anatomy of our body which was a very fun lesson during the training class. Besides that, she loves to see the postures of teacher Iryne and she is inspired by Iryne so much as well as the practical and techniques learning from R2 and Iryne. Yoga makes beautiful people meet each other. Yoga is an approach to life that values appropriate effort, based on balance and harmony.

Yoga cultivates health and wellbeing through the regular practice of a range of many different techniques, including postures and movement, breath awareness and breathing exercises, relaxation and concentration, self-inquiry and meditation. Shan strongly believes that yoga can train our mind, body and breathing, as well as connecting with our spirituality, improves flexibility, strength, balance, stamina, mental clarity, helps in reducing anxiety, stress and promoting good sleep. By improving circulation, stimulating the abdominal organs, and placing pressure on the glandular system, all these can generally lead to better health.

For Shan, as certicfied teacher, she has the responsibility to share it out! Share yoga to others, share positivity to others and also happiness. Her class is focusing more on Hatha yoga: gentle flow and also restorative yoga. Yoga is for everyone, to prepare the mind and body for long-term health.

[box]ABOUT IRENE YU MEE KIN[/box]

After became a mother of 3 kids , my life has changed. It’s getting more challenge to me , to look after the kids from the early stage when they were in my belly. They will grow in different stages of a human life as you and me , me and you are the same. “We are together”.

I was a business owner for a restaurant for almost eight years. Own a restaurant is not an easy task. These are the common problems i faced – customer service , management , hiring and training staff , capital. I don’t know what does life means to me. Everyday work from 6am to 9pm / 10pm , 365 days restaurant is open ; except the 1st day of Chinese New Year.

Slowly , i discovered that i have lost myself. I found that i really need something for myself. Something that can bring back my own soul and nature. Nature is already complete and inner balance is the key to unlocking the natural healing.

I strongly believe that through body motion , i am exploring the deeper realms of nature’s creative energy. In this world of changes and transformations , our ability to connect deeply with ourselves will shape our sense of harmony with our surrounding.

Finally , i started to do YOGA from Sept 2014 in celebrity fitness and other yoga studios.

I studied with many yoga instructors like Iryne , Nic , Jason IC , Matthew , Ai Ting ,etc. He/she leads a heart – opening , alignment – based , breath – focused in classes like flow , asana , hatha , vinyasa , ashtanga and iyengar. They really deep love of movement , “ the practice “ , flow with the practice of yoga.

Then , i went to 200 – Hour Yoga Teacher Training. After i graduate from this course , I realized that yoga is not only asana. It’s a combination of asana , meditation and pranayama to explore the “ spiritual “ through the “ physical “ , not material. On top of that , yoga is a way to focus within , expand our awareness , bringing increased reaponsibility to live in alignment with men and women. We came here to be “ Peace “. Simply turn your awareness inward. “ let me be strong “ – able to harness an inner strength i didn’t even realize was within me. It’s an amazing feeling to go deeper into a pose than you even knew possible.

Now is the time to share “ OM “ to the world. For me , learning is a knowledge through experience , study or by being taught. Find and face the challenge on the mat , so that we may live our life effortlessly. Practisimg the power of now.

With the aim of improving interpersonal relations and common – unity , i do variety of poses and conscious sequencing to build strength , flexibility and balance through stability , as well as provide the space to discover the truth in transition. And , the sense of lightness you’re looking for in your practice. Also , hands – on adjustments help you to access and awaken the life force in dormant areas of the body. You will leave the class feeling enlivened and renewed.

Gee Thien started her Yoga Practice after she had Slipped Disc 10 years ago. She has been practicing yoga since year 2005. She took her 1st 100 hours Teacher Training course locally in year 2007. In year 2011, she participated a special course by YOGACHARYA B.K.S IYENGAR  during his First Public Teaching at Guangzhou , China. She followed her Guruji Paritosh Sharma from Rishikish, India to do Pranayama Practice and Asana Yoga. She is sharing her yoga knowledge to people around her for Restorative and Breathing Practice to improve health condition. She also further her practice of Yoga at Rishikesh , India for one week intensive course certified by World Yoga Alliance  in year 2014. In year 2015, she obtained another 200 hours of Teacher Training Course from World Yoga Alliance at Yogavatar Teacher Training school.

[box]BIOGRAPHY[/box]

Florence started her yoga journey in 2011 .   She has always thought yoga was “soft, until she tried her first yoga class. She was used to relatively tough endurance activities like multi-day high altitude trekking, long distance and multi-day road cycling and races, rock climbing and road running, frequently taking part in half-marathons. She gave yoga a go after suffering from foot and knee injuries that prevented her from taking part in her favourite outdoor sports.

After her first yoga class, she could not believe that, being used to relatively tough endurance sports, a simple basic beginner’s class can be such a thorough workout. Just holding a basic Down-ward Dog pose was unbearable, and having climbed many mountains, she has never doubted her sense of balance until she was asked to do a tree pose. From then on, she has been totally convinced, and has been attending yoga classes on an average of 2 hours daily for the past 4 years.

Although she has always been keeping much younger companies in whatever activities that she takes part in, she has always strive hard to keep up with the younger participants. She has taken part in countless half and quarter marathons, ran her first full marathon at the age of 60, taken part in cycling events, and cycle toured in 6 countries. She has also cycled around the Taiwan island (more than 1,000km) twice, in 2011 and 2013. Mixing with the younger set rejuvenates her mind and spirit, and she thrives on the constant challenges that she pushes herself through to keep up with her young friends.

Her personal mission is to influence and persuade all and especially senior citizens and retirees to embark on a healthy lifestyle, and work towards an enriching and healthful golden age.   She has always regretted that she started her healthy lifestyle journey rather late at the age of 45. Her intention at that time was just to influence and lead her son to more outdoor activities.   From then on, she was totally hooked onto exercising and keeping a healthy and challenging lifestyle.

Yoga to her is not just exercising. She has sinced discovered the many benefits of yoga, how it quiets the mind to help alleviate stress, lost a couple of kilos of stubborn fat, and least but not last, all the stretching has helped to cure her of heel pain, and improved movements in her creaky knees.

She is thankful to all the yoga teachers and instructors who has patiently guided and encouraged her along the way. Her special thanks to Alvin Kwan of Dance City and JH Foo of Inspired Yoga.   And to the instructors and teachers of Yogavatar Yoga School , she is forever grateful and thankful for the meticulous teaching, the detail and complete manuals and the opportunity to learn Yoga and the yogic lifestyle truly.

Given the opportunity to share and teach yoga, Florence would especially like to work with retirees and senior citizens and help them on the way to a healthy yoga lifestyle.
